What I Wore: Denim, Emerald & Stripes

Jacket: Thrifted, Top: Old Navy, Pants: Kohls, Shoes: Target, Bracelets: Forever 21 and thrifted, Necklace: Errol at Makers Mart Toledo

I purchased this shirt at Old Navy two weeks ago and I cant stop wearing it!  Its super long and the material is very soft!  I think the black, denim & emerald look really good together. Almost a bit of a nautical feel!  Typically I would of worn this with flats but I gave Eric the choice and he said heels.  Speaking of Eric hes becoming quite the photographer.  This weekend we worked on getting the garden ready & also purchased some plumbing materials to make a watering system for the garden that hooks up to the rain barrels.  I cant wait for spring weather to stick around!  How was your weekend?

Congrats to Anna who won the pair of tickets to the Goodwill Fashion Show!

Mascara Wardrobing

I have a confession to make...

I am a mascara junky

I love to try out new mascaras.. and depending on what I am doing, it will affect which mascara I choose. I thought I would show you a few that I use, and some that I would recommend to other clients.  Here are my favorites-

1. Diorshow Maximizing Lash Primer- This amazing white to clear eyelash primer doubles as a safe lash growth serum! I swear by this stuff! Use it morning and night for bet results, and you will notice in 2 weeks or less! After that just do it once a day for maintenance.
2. A new favorite of mine, Hourglass Film Noir Mascara. This brand is almost completely vegan and very good for your skin. This mascara is very moisturizing for your lashes.
3.Tarte MultiplEYE Lash Serum- Apply at the base of your lashes up to twice daily for fuller longer looking lashes. This brand is completely all natural so it's safe for your eyes. I was scared when I first wanted to try something like this, from all that I had heard about the other lash growths out there- but I was pleasantly surprised!
4.This is a classic for me- YSL Shocking mascara. This mascara is so easy to use! One swipe, and you have longer, thicker lashes. Perfect for someone who doesn't want to spend a ton of time on their lashes. Believe it or not, it smells amazing- like roses! It is a glossy gel base formula, that is meant for lengthening and thickening the lashes.
5. Lastly (which is weird because I use this first*) the Sephora Eyelash Curler. This curler is easy to use, and comes with two replacement heads. Comes in a huge range of colors to fit your personality.

Here are a few more that might fit you better..

For the girl who: Likes to spend time on their lashes, and put on a few coats just to make sure they look thick and long. I would recommend the Too Faced Lash Injection Mascara. Something really unique about this mascara, is that it has tubing technology so it wraps around each individual lash, for easy removal with any eye makeup remover. This also makes it great for anyone with sensitive eyes.

For the girl who: May already have decently long lashes, but needs serious curl. I would say the Urban Decay Supercurl Mascara. This mascara is guaranteed to hold the curl all day, and also separate lashes for extra definition.

For the girl who: Has trouble getting every last little lash. The Clinique Bottom Lash mascara is perfect to make sure every lash gets loved. The tip is very small, but perfect to reach in to the inner eye, and lower lash line. It's also smudge proof- which is great for anyone who tends to have watery eyes.
For the girl who: Loves a dramatic Lash. I would recommend They're Real! Mascara from Benefit. The wand on this mascara is what really makes it. You want to use it like a tool- moving it every direction to get the most volume. The formula is water-resistant, gel-like, and the blackest black. It seperates, defines, thickens, lifts, AND curls. What more could you want?

For the girl who: Likes her lashes to look natural with a little extra definition. This one was a tie for me.  My classic choice would be Tarte Lights Camera Lashes because it is all natural, and a favorite of so many people. It's a very light weight formula that stays in place all day. It curls, conditions, and lengthens lashes. The other is, Korres Volcanic Mineral Mascara. This formula is made to increase lash volume by up to 600%. Brush looks scary, but this formula won't clump. It is all natural, very conditioning, and very black.

And now... last but not least.... I saved the best for last....

Too Faced Better than False Lashes - The DIY Eyelash Extension System.

This stuff is awesome. You are in control of how long your lashes will be. You begin with one layer of the black mascara as a base, then directly apply the white fiber extensions on top of that, and apply a finishing layer of mascara, and repeat until you get the results you are looking for! At the end of application, your lashes still look natural and separated! They look REAL!

Hope this helps you to pick out your new mascara. Don't be afraid to layer a few to get the perfect lash!

Blazer: The Limited, Top: Old Navy, Jeans: TJ Maxx, Shoes: Target, Necklace: c/o Poor Sparrow, Bracelet: Gift

I broke down and went to Old Navy last week and picked up some spring items.  I felt like I was the only girl in the office still wearing winter colors and I felt like a downer!  They currently are running some great deals!  I picked up 5 tops, 2 tanks & a cardigan for $60!  You really cant beat that!

This past Saturday I went to Artomatic419 that was held at an old warehouse with over 400 artists, live music & makers mart.  I made sure to stop by the ATM on my way there and I picked up some great items from Makers Mart.  I cant wait to share them with you!  If you are in the Toledo area I highly suggest spending a few hours there next Saturday which is the final day.  Its from 11-11 and its free to get in! It was such a great feeling to be walking around that area of Toledo which is usually dead.  It made me feel energized and proud of my city.

Good Style Fashion Show Giveaway! (Giveaway Closed)

Congrats to Gina who won the $100 gift card to Target!  Please email me your mailing address!

Can you believe the Good Style Goodwill Fashion show is less than 3 weeks away?!  I am getting really nervous and excited!  Last Sunday I headed to Lakewood Ohio to meet two of my friends who are modeling for me!  We had a great lunch at Sweet Melissa's and then headed to find them each two outfits!  I felt so much pressure since I knew we HAD to get them both 2 outfits that day.  But we did it!  Then a few days later I met my cousin Paige and we found both of her outfits too!  Everything was finally coming together!  Then I had to choose my music.  That was so tough.  I think the music can make or break the entire show.  So fingers crossed I picked the right music! My theme for the fashion show is Audrey Hepburn.  I am super thrilled with all of the outfits and cant wait to see everything put together!  The fun part for you?  Goodwill is giving away 2 tickets to one of my lucky readers for the May 9th fashion show!  It starts at 6pm and it will be at the Cleveland Aquarium.  Leave a comment below to be entered to win a set of tickets to the show!  The giveaway will end on Sunday April 28th 11:59 pm EST and the winner will be announced on Monday April 29th.
Would you like to purchase tickets? You can here.

What I Wore: Spring Layers

Purse, Scarf, Shoes & Coat: Target, Jeans: TJ Maxx, Sweater: Old Navy, Braclets: Assorted vintage and forever 21

Last week I finally was able to meet my blogger friend Faith in person!  We planned to meet in Ann Arbor for the day and I was so excited!  She is just as sweet in person as she is on her blog!  We ate at Zingermans Deli for lunch, did some shopping and stopped at Cupcake depot for a yummy cupcake!  I was even able to do some shopping at Trader Joe's after we were done! Even though it was cold and rainy we still enjoyed ourselves!  Hopefully I didn't make her sick with my driving and then going around the same block three times to find a parking spot for Urban Outfitters!  It was a great time and am looking forward to meeting up with her again!

What I Wore: Stripes & Animal Print!

Purple dress & shoes: Target, Striped dress: Old Navy, Purse: TJ Maxx, Bracelet: Gift

How are you today friends?  Can I just say its been one of THOSE weeks!  My car "broke" down the same day as the Gas company turned off my gas at the apartment due to a possible gas leak and 24+ hours its still off.  Plus the pouring rain in a skirt and ballet flats and did I mention the car in the shop which means $ that wasn't in my budget for April.  So as soon as this post in finished I will be making myself a bowl of vanilla ice cream and Reese cups to heal the day.  Lets hope tomorrow is better. I hope you had a much better day than me!

Winged Liner : Tutorial

EEK. My first tutorial!
I'm sure you have all seen the winged liner looks over the last couple of years. I have people ask me all the time, "How did you do that?" "How did you make both eyes look so even?", "What kind of liner do you use?", Or they just resort to the idea that they could never do it if they tried. Well folks, I hope today's post will help answer those questions, and make you feel like you can do this yourself.

First- I will show you what I used to achieve this look.
(Please bare with me, I used my cell phone to take these pictures.)

First I used eyeshadow primer from Urban Decay (not pictured), then used a few shades from a limited edition holiday palette from Bare Minerals. The liner I used to create the wing is just the black liquid liner from Sephora.

Here are the before pictures with only my shadow, and complexion finished.

First step is to line the upper lash line as close as possible with your liner, and just go from inner corner to outer lid. It should look something like this:

Second step is hard to see, but your going to take the liner from the LOWER outter lash line and draw a line out. Do the same on both sides- this is where you make sure the lines will match up.

Third step is to draw down the lashes from the tip of the corner. In my opinion when you move in a downward motion here, you have more control over the liquid and in blending it out.

From this point, you just fill in the tiny triangular looking shape at the end. You can also go back and thicken the liner if necessary. You can always go thicker* but it's harder to go back and make that liner smaller.

Add Mascara for a finished look.

There ya have it! Cat eye / Winged Liner look. Sorry for the dark pictures. Let me know what you think- and if you have any questions- Please ask!!

Reader Question: Anna's Work Event!

Anna Work Event

Anna Work Event by freetobestacialee featuring gap handbags

My friend Anna recently contacted me she needed some help on what to wear to a work event! The description she gave me on the "look" she is going for was very intriguing! I was super excited to put something together that went with her directions. So this is what she gave me:

-Business Casual
- Professional but not too corporate
-Creative
- Energetic
- Edgy
So I found this beautiful dress at the limited that described what she was looking for with the creative, energetic and edgy. Now all I needed to add was the casual, classic and professional. The patent pumps, blazer and classic earrings helped pull that together. Then all I added was that sassy necklace and clutch! I think the result is jut what she was looking for! So what do you think? Do you need help with something style related for a future event or new job? Shoot me an email I would love to help!

What I Wore: Travel Wear

Boots, Scarf, Top & Sweater: Target, Jeans: TJ Maxx, Shades: Dollar Tree

Eric and I went to Pokagon State Park over the weekend and had a really great time.  We went for walks, horse back riding and took naps.  It was perfect.  We headed home on Easter Sunday and I wore this outfit.  When I'm traveling I prefer to wear layers.  I could easily take off the sweater and scarf if I became warm.  Also the boots are easier to wear instead of taking up space in my suitcase.  Plus they are super easy to just slip off.  And can I just say that I am in LOVE with this old advertisement.  Downtown Toledo has so many beautiful older buildings to look at.  I Hope you have a great day and hopefully have some sunshine to enjoy today!
