What I Wore: Nautical Girl

Sweater, Chambray Top & Shoes: Target, Skirt: Forever 21, Tank: Old Navy, Bracelets: Thrifted & Forever 21

I hope I don't ever lose the thankfulness of having a 4 day work week.  I love my Tuesdays off from work.  Today I had a full day of meetings and appointments.  One of them being at a Senior Center near Toledo.  I was able to connect with the Center through one of Eric's neighbors and met with the director & head volunteer today.  I'm really happy to say that I will be part of their stress less segment and of course my segment will be on outward beauty & inward strength!  I will be meeting with two lady's from the center help them go through their closet and basically do a "what not to wear" segment.  I will then share the lesson with everyone who attends the class.  Eek!  I am so excited!
How was your day?

What I Wore: Blues & Neutral

Top: Old Navy, Shoes & Purse: Target, Blazer: The Limited, Necklace: Gift, Sunglasses: Dollar Tree

Lets file this outfit under "I need more blazers".  I have been wearing this navy blazer any chance I get.  I love how the jeans, blazer and purse are all very similar colors but you can see the differences too.  I have been carrying that purse around since September and haven't had to swap out for another purse with the exception of formal events! Don't you just love pieces likes that? I do!

Your making me Blush!!

Did you know that based on your skin, you may want to use a different blush?

There are 3 basic kinds of blush:
Cream
Powder
Gel / Liquid Stains

Cream Blushes would be great for dryer skin types. A lot of cream blushes have some type of vitamin E or Aloe in them to help sooth skin and add moisture. Aging skin.. More Mature skin would also be great in this category. Powder tends to settle into fine lines and wrinkles, or make them more pronounced. Instead, when you use a cream blush, it tends to mimic skin and look as natural as possible.

   1. NARS Multiple stick blush in "G spot"                           2. Urban Decay Afterglow Cheek Tint in "Score"

Powder blushes are best for oily skin types. Powder tends to absorb oil, and therefore helps to make the skin have more of a matte finish. Younger skin is best for this blush as well, as it often has shimmer or luminosity to it.

1.Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hr Blush in "Blushing Bride"               2. Bare Minerals Blush in "Vintage Peach"

Gel and Liquid Stain blushes are the hardest to work with application wise. You can use a brush, or your finger - which in my opinion is better because it warms the product up to make it more blend-able. Some people use their lipstick as a blush, and that would also fall under this category. Lipstick can make a great blush, and it takes the guess work out of matching the two together. These kinds of blushes are really good for all skin types, but especially textured skin (wrinkles, hair, etc.). It will appear natural to the skin, and usually stay on the longest.

1.Hourglass Aura Cheek Stain in "Petal"                           2. Stila Convertible Lip and Cheek color in "Petunia"

Are you using the right blush for your skin type?
Hope this helps you next time you choose a blush!

Recently I was contacted by a new workout clothing company to review their clothing!  Ellie offers high end workout clothing that is fashionable and great quality & is offered a great price. Ellie contacted me at just the right time!  One of my goals for 2013 is to get fit and make healthier food choices.  I have been working out and recently stopped drinking pop.  My main goal is to tighten my stomach and I would also like to strengthen my arms.

Ellie offers a great monthly subscription box!  Similar to Birchbox and other monthly subscriptions you are provided a style quiz to take.  You also have the option to pick your two pieces! That was one of my favorite parts of the process!  Going through the look book and being able to choose my favorites!   The clothing pieces are typically ranging from $30-$70 but when you sign up for the monthly subscription its only $50 a month for two pieces!  I was so impressed with the fabric and fit of the clothes I cant wait to get my next set! Guest Post: Faith of Sweetened Style!

Today we have one of my favorite bloggers guest posting!  Faith blogs at Sweetened Style and puts together some great outfits with thrifted and sale items!  Today she is going to share her tips on how do the same!

Hello Free to be Stacia Lee readers! I'm Faith, and I blog over at Sweetened Style. I blog about my personal style on a budget and my day to day life as a wife, nanny, and dog mom. I also sell vintage clothing and accessories on Etsy.

So we're all looking to save money, right? Today I'd like to share with you one of my favorite recent outfits and a few tips for how to get items for super cheap!

1. Don't be afraid to shop the clearance racks. Be patient. The amazing piece will come way down in price if you're willing to wait a few weeks. I love to use this method to pick up lots of basic pieces, as well as trends that are sticking around for another season. I recently snagged this peplum top for just $5 on clearance...marked down from $30!

2. Thrift, thrift, thrift! Thrift stores are your friend. I honestly think you can get most any piece you want there if you're willing to put in some work. Find out what days are discount days and you can save even more!

3. Shop smart online. Use programs like Ebates or ShopatHome, and check for coupons on RetailMeNot. Every. Single. Time. You can save so much just by making a few clicks!

You can find even more money saving tips over on my blog! Please do stop by and pay me a visit. :-)

Jayme and I recently had our photos taken by the very talented Kathy of Photography by K!  We had them taken as official photos for The Midwest Blogger Meet Up.  We had such a great time!  One of the main reasons I continue to blog is because of the friendships I have made through blogging and Jayme is one my favorite blogging friends!  She is probably one of my closest friends and I honestly just adore her.
