What I Wore: Neon & Crochet

Sweater Tank: Old Navy (less than $2!), Vest: TJ Maxx, Skirt: Target, Shoes: Charlotte Russe, Necklace: c/o Poor Sparrow, Bracelets: F21 and Thrifted

Well I went to Old Navy to pick up a sweater I saw on the good life blog and also found this little darling sweater tank for $1.47 and then had additional 25% off my total!  It was the one and only so I snagged it!  I love the color and texture. So of course I had to wear it the next day to the farmers market!  Did you do anything fun over the weekend?

Anderson & Josephina

I am one proud Mama!  Anderson & Josephina just finished their in home dog training classes!  When it was time to choose a dog trainer I decided to call their veterinarian office and they suggested John of "Lets Train" I called him the next day and scheduled our fist session!  He has several options for training.  You can meet him in a classroom setting with other dogs or he has in house training sessions.  I choose the in house because Josephina doesn't always get along with big dogs.  We started out with some behaviors that we knew we wanted improved but had no idea how to do so.  John knew exactly how to help and was very patient with us.  If you are looking for a dog trainer in the Northwest Ohio area I would highly recommend John.  The dogs are so much happier and so are we!  You can find John on facebook!

Last week was also Anderson's 6th birthday!  Which I cant believe its seems like he was just a puppy.  It has come quite the tradition to get ice cream cones on the dogs birthdays.

What I Wore: Extending those long legs

Top & Jeans: TJ Maxx,  Shoes: Target, Tank: Old Navy, Purse: The Limited, Glasses: Dollar Tree

Well if you want your already long legs to look even longer the key is very formfitting pants with sky high heels.  That is the trick.  The other trick is to wear a flowy top with those tight pants so you can breath.  Breathing is key.

Necklace: Gift, Purse: The Limited, Shoes & Dress: Target, Vest: Thrifted, Glasses: Dollar Tree

Well this may be my favorite outfit post since September of last year!  You can check that outfit out here.  I picked this vest up at the thrift store earlier this month and I picked up another one for my etsy shop.  I never thought I would wear a denim vest again.  I think the last time I wore one was in Junior High.  I guess its true that trends do come back after enough years.  Which just makes me feel very old.

Dress: F21, Shoes: Target, Necklace: Gift, Clutch: The Limited, Sun Glasses: Dollar Tree

Ice cream is always a MUST on vacation!  How about Mackinaw Fudge ice cream? Double must!!
This dress is great. Fits like a glove and gives me the open back trend for less than $25!  Pair with wedges and a red and blue necklace for a perfect 4th of July outfit!

Color Blocking: Blue

Top: Old Navy, Cardigan: H&M, Dress & Shoes: Target, Belt: Thrifted: Bracelets: F21 and Thrifted.

I love wearing pajamas.  If you have read my "about me" you already know that.  A maxi skirt with a comfy tee tucked in layered with a cardigan is the next best thing to pajamas.  Add wedges, skinny belt & layered bracelets and you have an outfit.  My friend Amanda who is getting married in 16 days (I'm her Maid of Honor) took these photos after we ordered a shared plate of fajitas.   I just love the yellow wall.  E has been out of town so I quickly asked Amanda to pretty please take my photos.
This weekend is a busy one! Saturday is Amanda's bachelorette party. Sunday I'm leaving bright and early and heading to Cleveland.  Ill be setting up a table and garment rack my first time taking olive&otis on the road and am super excited & nervous.
Tomorrow Ill be sharing a special giveaway! Have a great Thursday!

Guest Post: Dresses Are My Enemy - Until Now

Jayme is my final guest Blogger! She has grown to be one of my closest friends and I know you will love her too!

Hello all of the fashionably fabulous Free To Be Stacia Lee readers! My name is Jayme and I write the lifestyle blog, The Random Blogette. My blog is all about the randomness that is my life and family. I was lucky enough to meet the adorable Stacia at the Grand Opening for The Limited at Westfield Mall, last year. We also co-hosted the Ohio Michigan Blogger Meet Up just last month. I am so honored to be here today!

When Stacia asked me to write a guest post here, I thought - me, fashionable, not so much. Stacia is always so kind saying how adorable my clothes are when I see her but my idea of fashion is throwing on a pair of jeans, a shirt that isn't wrinkled and some flats as I head out the door to my office job in the morning. We do not get many clients in my office so my work attire is pretty casual and basic. I try really hard to be cute but I work with a bunch of guys that could really care less.

I have been trying really hard to pay more attention to what I wear lately, but it can be difficult to dress my body. I have a large chest and a small waist. I know - wah! - but really it is so hard to find something that fits my chest and isn't so huge in the waist area. Because of this, dresses and I are mortal enemies. Let's not forget to throw in the fact that I am only 5'2 and 3/4" tall. (I have to throw in that 3/4"!)

I really dread dress shopping, but I wanted a pretty summer dress that I could wear to a few events this summer. I had to bring my mom along with me because she is very honest. She will, of course, tell me that I look beautiful, but be honest enough with me that I don't end up buying a dress that makes me look like I am wearing a garbage bag. You know how delusional those dressing rooms can make you feel. How many of you have thought something looked great on you when you tried it on at the store, but then got home and realized that you looked ridiculous in it? I know it is not just me.

I tried on several pretty dresses and sent pictures to Stacia, as well as posted them on Instagram. I needed help. I had one very pretty dress in my hands and was ready to buy it, but I had this weird feeling that it just wasn't "the one".  Then I found this one...

Dress: I.N. Studio - Dillard's $69 (Tried to find it online but it is gone.)
Shoes: Candies - Kohl's

I have pretty much fallen in love with the dress and want to wear it everywhere I go. It is light and it holds in my armpit fat oh so well! I feel like such a girl in it! Now I want to find a million dresses just like this one, but in different colors of course. I would wear them every day!

Have you ever found that one dress that makes you feel amazing? Where is your favorite place to find dresses?

Guest Post: Callie from Coffee and Cardigans

Happy Thursday lovelies!  I am having a wonderful time on vacation!  This morning we are going on a sand dune ride!  Today we have the very lovely Callie she is very very sweet!  She loves to thrift and to update the items to fit better in her wardrobe!  Make sure to stop by her blog and say hello!

Hello! I'm Callie from Coffee and Cardigans. I was so excited for the opportunity to play guest blogger while Stacia is on vacation - lucky girl! I blog on a budget and I also shop on one too. That means plenty of trips to the thrift stores and DIY and sewing projects galore. But one of my favorite things is reinventing old thrift store items into something new and modern. This old dress is the perfect example!
I picked up this dress for $4 at a local thrift store in my town. It was too big, too long, unflattering, and had oversized pockets, but I knew that the old thing had potential. That's the trick when you're looking for old items to reinvent: consider all the possibilities. So the dress came home with me to meet my scissors and sewing machine.
So how did I transform this old thrifted find? I altered the length of the dress and created a short hemline. I removed the pieces of the dress that didn't work, like the shoulder pads and awkward pockets. I also changed the shape of the dress by removing the elastic waist and awkward gathering. I also repaired a few broken buttons and torn seams. Other ways to change up an old garment could be shortening the sleeves, adding embellishments, changing the neckline, or adding elastic to the waist. This is what my final product looked like after some creative snipping and stitching:
I was really excited about the shirt dress this turned out to be. It was super easy to belt and wear with flats for a casual day-time look. A huge thank you to Stacia for letting me share this fun project! Enjoy your vacation, girl! Have you ever reinvented or transformed an old garment?
