royal bridesmaid

Hello! Shortly I will be heading to my stylish friend Meg's birthday party! I'm always up for a themed party and tonight's them is The REAL royal event of the year! I wanted to post a few pics of my outfit!

I thought I could dress up as a bridesmaid. This is my maid of honor dress from my sisters wedding. The dried flowers, earrings & handkerchief from her wedding as well.

I went to Biglots today looking for a crown and found this bow headband instead.  I just cant resist a cute bow!

Oh the memories of this dress! :)

I hope you have enjoyed all of the coverage on the royal wedding!
  Have a great Friday!

I have really been out of it lately.  A classmate from high school passed away and his showing was last week.  My friends Papa passed 2 days later and his funeral was the following day.  I have been down and out and trying to pick myself up and out of this rain cloud that's been hanging out.  I wasn't close to my classmate or my friends grandfather but I felt deep sadness for their families and friends.  I left thinking and questioning things that don't need to be thought about.  The on & off again rain  last week hasn't helped.  So I woke up this morning trying to get out of my funk and start the week positive.  I walked out to rain and then it rained all day long.

Color block top: Gap
Dress: Target
Shoes: Payless
Bracelets: F21

I wanted to wear this dress again on the blog but had a hard time trying to change it up.

I put the tee over the dress, knotted up the side and it seemed to work well.

Rain all day? Bun all day!

The one thing that gives me hope and gives others hope is Jesus Christ.  I'm thankful that he is always with me.  When I think about all of the sadness in the world my heart gets so heavy.  I feel so sorry for those who are missing their loved ones. I'm reassured that all I have to do is share my sadness with Jesus and I feel comforted.  I'm hoping your week was full of sunshine and smiles. Thanks for reading.
Until next time,

fashionably late

I said that I would post my rummage sale finds, well I'm 4 days late! Better late than really late!  This is a mixture of Salvation Army and rummage sale finds!

Black pleated skirt with hounds tooth trim on the bottom.

Hot pink button down blouse. Add a belt with skinny jeans! Perfecto!

coral short sleeve blouse with buttons on the side of one shoulder.

Light pink skirt

Black & white floral print dress with belt.

Yes its looks a little granny, but put on high heels, a long necklace and a vest over the dress! :)

Pale pink button down blouse with shoulder pads! I can see this with a black pencil skirt tucked in!

I just wanted the jacket ( thought it would be cute belted with wide leg jeans)

But it was a duo dress with jacket! Can you say Hairspray?? Rikki Lake! I'm pretty sure Ill make a few pillow covers with the dress.

Navy and white polka dot with belt. Add my ivory patent pumps and its a outfit!

Very 80's! Green and brown leather belt!

Pink, grey and white striped buton down skirt. I wore this for Easter yesterday! So cute!

So there are all of my thrifted finds! Let me know what you think! I cant wait to add this items to my closet and start thinking of new combination's of creations!  I hope you had a wonderful Easter!

steals & deals

My few days of vacation have been wonderful.  Yesterday I stopped by my Grandma's house and instantly saw the mirror and wanted it!  I mentioned to her how pretty it is and of course she said I could have it.  We went to Salvation Army and I spotted the chair sent a pic text to my Mom to see what she thought and she loved it!

The mirror needs to be cleaned and rewired on the back. Bobby said he can do that!

The chair needs to be cleaned and maybe the wood part of the chair painted white! This is going to go in my office.

Don't mind the dust spots on the pictures, I'm too tired to take new ones.  I was so excited to finally find a chair to put in the spare room! The brown is going to look really nice with pink walls!

The reason why I love thrift shopping:
Chair: $9.99
Mirror: Free from Grandma

Love love love! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Until next time,

maxi girl

I'm so excited to finally participate with everybody everywear. Last month when it was polka dots, I didn't have the blog up yet but still wore something polka dot. :) I have been wearing this same maxi skirt about once a week trying to figure out the best way to wear it. I think this may be #1.

Shirt: Kmart
Belt: F21
Skirt: f21 buy here
shoes: similar here
bracelet & necklace: f21

I typically wouldn't combine stripes with dots, but because of the sheerness of the shirt I think it works.  Today is my last day of work Im take a  few days of vacation.   My Mom and I are going to the Vera Bradley sale in Ft.Wayne Thursday, Ill be posting about that soon! Have a wonderful Tuesday!

thrifted thursday update

My Mama came over yesterday and we worked on a couple sewing projects for about 4 hours.  I wanted to show you the updated photo of the melon skirt I posted a couple weeks ago.  Since I don't have a washer or dryer at my apartment, Mom took it home to dye in hers.  I choose a navy blue dye and we took off about 9 inches off the bottom of the skirt.

Mom ironing the skirt:

 The semi finished skirt:

Now the skirt ends at the very last button.
I will post the final product very soon! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
